Meet With a Relationship Coach
Welcome
Jewish Gentile Couples is a collective of ministers who are all either intermarried, from intermarried families, or have training in intercultural relationships. We’ve spent the last thirty years developing resources and offering support to couples like you.
If you’re here, that means you’re in a relationship where one partner is Jewish and the other is not. There are unique challenges that you’ll bump up against. The two of you are from different ethnicities, and you’ve also grown up with different traditions and values that shaped your culture.
There are decisions you’ll be making that will shape your identity as a couple and some that will be formative for your children. How will you celebrate the holidays (and which ones will you celebrate)? What will your interfaith wedding look like? Will your children be bar/bat mitzvah? We’ve been there–and we’re happy to be a third voice in the discussion as you navigate these cultural waters.
We also understand that “religion” and “faith” are two topics that are challenging for Jewish-Gentile couples to broach. We translate those big ideas (and others) through the lens of cultural anthropology. Once communication improves, we can talk with you about finding ways towards spiritual harmony–together.
